What’s next, you might ask. Do you go to bed at night and before you drift off into blissful slumber, you lay there wondering what tomorrow will bring, and then maybe you’ll say a prayer. In a time of chaotic flux, when things are constantly changing and almost anything can happen; terror attacks, hurricanes, earthquakes, civil unrest, and yes politics, your mind must by now be at a point of psychic meltdown. But the day of reckoning is close at hand, and the results can very well affect all things around us.

Debate number two has come and gone, the discussion delineated clear differences across a wide spectrum of issues. But there is one thing for certain, it was raw, hostile and below the belt, and revealed who the candidate’s are, as if we didn’t know. As the November election approaches, the American people must consider the social, economic, domestic and international policy differences between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

True Conservatives should not have any misgivings, or hesitation about which candidate to vote for. We should all keep in mind, especially people of faith, what another four perhaps eight years of a democrat presidency would mean. According to most observers a continuation of the Obama policies would ensure; a continuation of a decimated military, economic insolvency, higher taxes, liberal Supreme Court justices, weakness in the face of our enemies, open borders, and unwavering support for abortion, same sex marriage, and special LGBT rights, all toward achieving the liberal progressive agenda that seeks to secularize society at the expense of religious liberty, traditional values, and the Judeo-Christian ethic.

The republican candidate, Mr. Trump, has taken a bold stand in defiance of the terrorist threat, laid out an economic plan that will reduce the tax burden and balance the budget, rebuild and reinvigorate the military, embolden border security, pronounced his prolife position and promised to defund Planned Parenthood, and repeal the Johnson Amendment (H.R.6195) which threatens the tax exempt status of religious institutions and non-profit groups.

Mrs. Clinton and democrats are attempting to pass legislation that seeks to repeal the Hyde Amendment, which will result in the use of tax payer money to fund abortion. Also, complicit with the IRS, democrats will use the Johnson Amendment to further intimidate pastors from preaching about moral or political issues which is well within their constitutional rights, and passage of the Gay Bill of Special Rights (H.R. 3185), which will further threaten religious liberty.

Joseph Story was a nineteenth century Supreme Court justice, in one of his three volumes written on the Constitution, he wrote “Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them”

Is there any public official today that any of us can point to as possessing an ounce of honesty and wisdom? Are there any true statesmen among us who the American people can look to with reverence, trust and respect? America cannot afford to venture down the same path we have been treading with the Obama administration. We have come to a fork in the road and must move in a different direction.

With all his flaws and peccadilloes, hopefully Mr. Trump, if elected, will live up to his promises and conservative agenda. Yes, it is a gamble, but it is one we must take, to consider otherwise I believe will spell disaster for America.
