You’ve scrimped and saved for years and now you’re ready to either buy your first house or move into the bigger one in a better neighborhood…and nothing could feel better than that, eh? Well, Binky, hold on to your chair because you’re going to get a cultural shock, courtesy of the US Government. What is happening you may ask, and the answer is that the government, in its infinite wisdom, is placing low or no-income people in your neighborhood…and you will not know about it until it might be too late. As was reported recently, Obama’s housing chief, Julian Castro, plans this fall to implement a new rule giving Section 8 welfare recipients enough money to afford rent wherever they choose, with the goal of driving them into affluent suburbs. Section 8 tenants who choose to stay in the city will lose subsidies. The regime is gearing up for a massive resettlement of urban poor — more than 350,000 initially, followed by as many of the rest of the 2.2 million Section 8 tenants as they can push out of cities — all to end what the left calls “American apartheid.” If landlords fight the massive social experiment to racially and economically — not to mention politically — integrate the suburbs, they’ll be sued for discrimination. And if counties and municipalities fight it, they’ll lose millions in federal funding. Obama is showing his radical roots in his final days in office. But if you think this is bad, just wait. His most dangerous days are yet to come.
And then there’s this… Money for vets goes to illegals. Although this might seem like old news, if you’re a veteran you probably know about this…but if you’re not a veteran you may not have seen this on the mainstream media. Back in October 1st of 2015, it was reported that Senate Democrats on Thursday blocked a bill that would fund veterans’ benefits and military construction, in an effort to push Republicans to negotiate a larger budget deal. Democrats were expected to block the legislation as part of their push for an agreement that would roll back congressionally-mandated spending caps on both defense and non-defense spending. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) slammed Democrats, suggesting they had flip-flopped on the legislation since it was passed out of the Appropriations Committee. “They issued press releases praising the bill, but they seem prepared to block the Senate from even debating this bill, too,” he said. “It’s all part of some half-baked Democratic scheme to get more money for the IRS and the Washington bureaucracies.” Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) added Democrats’ blocking the bill will have “consequences” for veterans as well as active-duty troops. “If we fail to act, it will not just be our veterans who are hurt. It will also affect our active-duty military and our national security,” he added.
According to the record there are many members of Congress that voted against a bill that would increase veteran’s benefits, and some of them would surprise you. An example is John McCain of Arizona…himself a veteran. Bill Nelson of Florida, who was an astronaut, voted against it. Barbara Boxer of California voted against it…but then, she dislikes the armed forces anyhow and has shown it. Dianne Feinstein, also of California voted against it, and she’s a well-known anti-gunner. Tim Kaine, the present VP nominee of the Democrat party, voted against it. Chuck Schumer, from New York, voted against it and he is also a big anti-gunner. There are many, many others too. As it turned out, the money that might have gone to the veterans will most likely go to illegal aliens and the so-called “refugees”.
On another note I recently watched a video on my computer in which the interviewer asked the people being questioned what they thought of Karl Marx as a possible third-party candidate. Out of 8 or 9 people only one actually knew who he was, and that he’d been dead for over a hundred years! These were college-age people and older, so what does that tell you about the type of education they’ve been receiving for the past 12 or so years? It tells me that we have a tremendous amount of truly ignorant people in this country and that the educational system has gone down the toilet. In most colleges and universities today if you differ in your opinion with that of the instructor, you will fail the course or get a much-lower grade than you deserve. Where college used to be where you opened up your world to new ideas it is now a closed campus, preserving the status quo, which wasn’t all that great to begin with.
Someone once said that he would rather be one of many sheep being led by a lion instead of many lions being led by a sheep…and it is the latter of which I’m most afraid. We have patriots, we have educators, we have warriors…but they are being shunted aside because they might be too radical for the academic system.
Oh, before I forget…I want to answer the reader who complained that I jump from one subject to another with no warning. Suggest some type of all-purpose warning that we’re changing the subject, and I’ll start using it. Also, do consider that there’s SO much going on in the world, so much that affects us both directly and indirectly, that it should be obvious that some of it has to be covered now and then.
A prolonged treatise on any subject might do more harm than good just by its length…some folks might drift off to sleep, turn the page or the channel or whatever, in order to get away from it. Shorter paragraphs which contain the “meat” of the subject do better, I believe. So stick with us and we’ll both get a better understanding of the news, eh?
The St. Cloud, Florida police department has filed a formal complaint with Walmart after a police officer in uniform was refused service by two clerks working at a Walmart store in St. Cloud. The incident was reported by a Central Florida TV news outlet which got confirmation from Walmart and police that a clerk refused to ring up the officer’s purchases by pointing at her (the clerk’s) skin color. A fellow clerk laughed and also did not help the officer. Incredibly, Walmart’s corporate office confirmed the incident but did not issue an apology. The TV station reported Walmart would not comment because it was a personnel issue.
The St. Cloud, Florida police department has filed a formal complaint with Walmart after a police officer in uniform was refused service by two clerks working at a Walmart store in St. Cloud.
The incident was reported by Central Florida TV news outlet WFTV which got confirmation from Walmart and police that a clerk refused to ring up the officer’s purchases by pointing at her (the clerk’s) skin color. A fellow clerk laughed and also did not help the officer. Incredibly, Walmart’s corporate office confirmed the incident but did not issue an apology. The TV reported Walmart would not comment because it was a personnel issue. It was confirmed the officer walked into the Walmart on 13th Street, grabbed what he needed and then headed for the checkout. The officer told a friend the cashier pointed to her skin color and told them she wouldn’t ring up his items. The officer told that friend a second employee laughed at the way the officer was treated. Walmart and police confirmed the incident to a local TV station.
The station contacted Walmart’s corporate office to comment on the incident, but was told, “This is an unfortunate situation, but we cannot comment on an active HR investigation.” No apology, no commitment by Walmart that police officers are welcome to shop at Walmart. The St. Cloud police department issued a statement on the Walmart incident announcing a formal complaint had been filed with Walmart. In response to local inquiries concerning the allegation where an employee of Walmart refused to serve a St. Cloud Police Officer; a formal complaint has been filed with Walmart’s corporate office. The St. Cloud Police Department trusts that Wal Mart will handle the situation properly and professionally. A spokesperson for the St. Cloud Police Department said, “The St. Cloud Police Department is grateful for the support from our community. We encourage our citizens to come by the St. Cloud Police Department to pick up their free “back the blue” bumper sticker to show their support of law-enforcement instead of participating in community protests.” Well, well, here’s another incident in which the right thing was not done and because it wasn’t, it would seem that tensions might build in this quiet little town in Central Florida. An update on this story is that Walmart fired the employee, but still hasn’t issued an apology to the police department.
Parting shot…you may have noticed that stores are beginning to put up holiday decorations. It’s not even September yet, and already there are Halloween and even some Christmas stuff showing up! Nothing like rushing the season, is there? Somehow, somewhere, there’s going to be somebody that will be opposed to all of this simply because he or she doesn’t believe in that stuff. Instead of merely bypassing the holidays, this person will want all of the holiday decorations taken down, claiming that it is discriminatory to their way of thinking. Go find a cave and live in that if you cannot stand our way of doing things.Tags: Chuck Schumer IRS John McCain Mitch McConnell President Barack Obama Tim Kaine
