The latest proof of this is in California where state Democrats voted against SB 14 that makes child sex trafficking a “serious felony.”
As HotAir noted, “the California Public Safety Committee voted down a bill, on a party-line vote, that would have enhanced penalties for child sex trafficking by making it a “serious felony,” which is a step up from merely being illegal.”

The bill has failed several times because of the “serious crime” language. And it noted that trafficking minors was a serious crime. Democrats didn’t like that.
