After the NY Post exclusive about the contents of Joe Biden’s son Hunter’s laptop, more   than 50 former senior intelligence officials have signed on to the letter outlining their belief that the recent disclosure of emails allegedly belonging to Joe Biden’s son “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” One of the signers was James Clapper, Former Director of National Intelligence, who had perjured himself at more than one congressional hearing.

On Monday, the  NY Post reported

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper tried Monday to tamp down the growing controversy over the letter that he and 50 other ex-spooks signed after The Post first revealed the existence of the first son’s infamous laptop in October 2020.

Their public statement, now the subject of investigations by the Republican-led House Judiciary and Intelligence committees, was first reported by Politico and later seized on by then-candidate Joe Biden.

“There was message distortion,” Clapper told the Washington Post. “All we were doing was raising a yellow flag that this could be Russian disinformation. Politico deliberately distorted what we said. It was clear in paragraph five.”

Let us take a look at paragraphs five (and six):

We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.

If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we believe strongly that Americans need to be aware of this.

In paragraph five, the letter reports they dont have evidence of Russian involvement but “just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.

If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we believe strongly that Americans need to be aware of this.

It’s true they didn’t directly say that they didn’t say that 100% believe the Russians were behind the Hunter laptop, but it sure gave the American people the impression that’s what they believed. Maybe the Russians didn’t try to influence the election by releasing that letter from Clapper, and the other former intelligence leader was trying to influence the election.

The letter wasn’t the only time Clapper blamed the Russians.

“Three days after the New York Post story, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff described the revelations as a “smear on Joe Biden” which has “come from the Kremlin”. This was backed by the former director of National Intelligence James Clapper who called the story “textbook Russian tradecraft at work”.

“The Russians have analysed the target, they understand that the president and his enablers crave dirt on vice-president Biden whether it is real or contrived, it doesn’t matter to them and so all of a sudden two and half weeks before the election, this laptop appears somehow,” he said. This led to Biden himself indicating his campaign is embracing the Russia narrative, telling reporters “the vast majority of intelligence people” have said there is no truth in the allegations being made against his son.

The letter wasn’t “dug up” by a NY Post reporter via an unnamed secret friend of Clapper. That’s the Washington Post’s method of reporting:

Nick Shapiro, a former top aide under CIA director John Brennan, provided POLITICO with the letter on Monday. He noted that “the IC leaders who have signed this letter worked for the past four presidents, including Trump. The real power here however is the number of former, working-level IC officers who want the American people to know that once again the Russians are interfering.”

Besides being another example of Clapper saying the Russians were behind the laptop, Clapper, the Bug-Eyed Bull-Sh**ting Bloviating Barrister Of Burbank (Adam Schiff), and the mainstream media worked hard to protect Joe Biden. The laptop story was not about whether Hunter Biden’s laptop proved that the future president’s son did anything wrong, especially about his international dealings. The actual narrative was whether or not Joe Biden was involved. And if he was involved, does that skew his foreign policy decisions as president.

Something that should be recognized as Clapper tries to walk away from his original “Russian Disinformation” story is Clapper is a liar. During his period as Director of National Intelligence, he perjured himself to Congress. For example:

Clapper lied when he told Congress he didn’t leak information to the media while in government. Jonathan Turley explained on Fox News that Clapper had been caught lying to Congress before but was not indicted,

Clapper admitted to giving “clearly erroneous” testimony to Congress about mass surveillance in March 2013.

Clapper lied when he told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he had no contact with the media regarding the Steele dossier during his time serving in the Obama administration.

These are just a few of the lies Clapper told Congress (and got away with).

The question remains: if he committed perjury during his congressional hearings, which, if caught, would land him in jail, how do we know he’s not lying to the American people when he walks away from his original claim of “Russian Disinformation.
