Vladimir Putin: “You and I, we have a much closer relationship than with Mr. Flynn. You and I met up yesterday evening. You and I have worked all day together. We are meeting yet again at this moment … If Mr. Flynn and I had this kind of interaction, … and Mr Flynn was fired from his job, you then should be arrested and put in jail.”
On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Vladimir Putin answered questions from NBC anchor Megyn Kelly. Original 20-min full version of the unedited interview may be watched here. If you prefer, here is the script of that Putin’s Interview to NBC.
The former FOX News anchor Megan Kelly left the network some time ago. After almost a half-year sabbatical, her appearance at NBC was timed to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (June 1-3, 2017, Russia). This year’s forum slogan was “Achieving a New Balance in the Global Economic Arena.” The annual event is held since 1997. Megan Kelly was the moderator and she had quite strained exchange with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the session. But in her own words, it was easy and pleasant in one-on-one interview.
Other high rank guests in the session included Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern and President of Moldova Igor Dodon. The participants discussed key issues of economic development in Russia, the emerging economies and the world at large.
Who would you vote for if the elections were held today?
Kelly’s introductory words were greeted by the audience applause: “We’ve been in St. Petersburg for a few days and understand that this is an important place, a personal place to President Putin. And now we understand why. It’s incredibly beautiful. The gorgeous rivers, romantic bridges, the beautiful weather (Laughter). And most of all the lovely people who have given us such a warm welcome and – I’ll tell you, just in our few days here – have made us feel like we have far more in common than we do apart. And so, the world leaders need to figure out the differences, but I think the people feel bonded in a lovely way.”
NBC reported on that Forum, but as usually, some interesting moments of the recording were “missing.” To make up a deficiency, you may watch this clip and read the script right from the Kremlin website.
Also, this clip from the Next News Network could be a good addition.
