I first want to start off with an observation made years ago by one Glenn Beck, long before Trump ever considered running for President. Those who don’t care for Beck, just stay with me. This is not about him.
He was talking about what the polished, buttoned up phony Obama was and frankly still is. He was aloof, seemingly unflappable, great speech maker, always mindful of his words. Glenn said that we must be careful in our next choice for president because otherwise it’s likely to be the polar opposite. Both in terms of policy and also in demeanor.
Glenn predicted that the next president might be a “gravy stain” president. You know, the guys that spills gravy down the front of his shirt and then doesn’t seem to care. He’s not polished or buttoned up. He’s more blue collar and acts and speaks that way.
It wasn’t a hard prediction. After all, if you trust the pendulum theory, that the pendulum tends always to swing wildly from one side to the other. It never seems to go from hard left to center and vice versa.

So in Obama we had an aloof global socialist, anti-colonialist who hates America as it was founded. So naturally the opposite end of the pendulum was likely to be some sort of Trump. A loud, gaudy, brash, nationalist, steak eating, bad language using blue collar guy stuck in a suit, who will just come out and tell you how great he is. Course, Obama thinks he is the greatest also, but he always just left the job of informing the public of his majesty to the compliant media.
We were destined to have him. In other words, assuming Trump said what he did about those other craphole countries – and they are – we shouldn’t be surprised. Yet everyone is, or at least faking it real well.
He probably said something like it, if not those exact words, but so what? Like I said – these countries are s-hole countries. That’s not racist. If the island nation was populated solely with uneducated, non-English speaking, three-toothed rednecks from the back hills of West Virginia, Trump would have said the same thing.
I’m sure the Haitian people are perfectly wonderful people, most of them, but they’re utterly uneducated, speak Haitian Creole, not English and have no appreciable skills. Same with the other craphole countries. Which just means we’re inviting in myriads more “wards of the State.”
And everyone is in a lather over the fact he mentioned – why not more people from Norway. Wow – how racist. No it wasn’t. And why did he single out Norway? Why did this whitey-white nation spring to mind? Easy – because he had just met with Norway’s Prime Minister Erna Solberg. That’s why. Otherwise it would have been another country that just popped into his head.
But somehow that’s a scandal, because the left are such despicable liars and the right is too incompetent to think its feet. That and many republicans hate Trump as much as Durbin does.
Face it – Durbin, like Schumer, Pelosi, etc., is just a bad person, who would probably offer up one of his own family members in trade to get Trump out of office.
The only thing sacred to them is the political agenda and power. Nothing else matters. The leaked democrat DACA memo proves that, they want the DACA kids just and only for their votes. It’s not about Americans or Haitians. Remember Durbin is the same lying sack who likened our troops to Nazis and Pol Pot, and Gitmo to a Soviet Gulag in order to advance his anti-George Bush agenda.
Now I don’t mean to be crass, but doesn’t Trump have a point? Do we need more Haitians?
Durbin says, correctly so, that Haitians “have temporary protected status in the United States because they were the victims of crisis, disasters and political upheaval. The largest group is El Salvadoran, the second is Honduran and the third is Haitian.”
Okay – that’s what Durbin said. My question is and will continue to be – why us? Why every time something happens, we open our doors? Why do they have to come here? I get that we’re the kindest, best nation ever, but we can’t continue to accommodate everyone. Wouldn’t it just be cheaper in the long run to just rebuild Haiti?
And what does temporary status mean? I don’t think it means anything. I think it means as temporary as a temporary tax increase. Like the temporary Johnstown Flood tax of 1936, which we still have. The temporary cigarette tax of 0.1 cent per pack to help fund the Civil War, and is now over $1.00 per pack, the temporary gas tax that began in 1932, the temporary telephone excise tax, that originated in 1898 to help fund the Spanish-American War, the temporary firearms tax which was supposed to expire in 1936, or the New York State temporary personal income tax surcharge which also magically became permanent.
In other words, left to politicians, there is no such thing as temporary, status, tax or otherwise. Politicians just bank on the public just forgetting a program was ever instituted, so it just lives on, buried in the many, multiple thousand pages bills they offer up.
I’m reminded of now disgraced democrat Congressman John Conyers, as if he wasn’t a disgrace before, who said in 2009 of ObamaCare, “I love these members that get up and say, READ THE BILL! What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill.”
Bottom line is Trump, assuming he said what he did, could have been more measured, but that’s not him, the gravy-stain president. And the fact remains, he’s not wrong, but the dems are banking on the American people to only be affected by words, not the damaging effects of actual leftist policy.
