The 2022 Election’s Outcomes are Just the Beginning

I have been thinking for some time that if Republicans win control of the house and the Senate the battle isn’t over. My concern is that many voters who here on election night that the Republicans will take control of the House and the Senate in January will think the battle is over and the victory has been won. In my opinion, nothing could be further from the truth lest we forget Barack Obama when he lost over 60 seats in the house in his first midterm told the Republicans “I’ve got a pen, and I’ve got a phone.”

I believe the time after the midterm election and before the new Congress is seated in January the Democrats will try and use the lame duck session to pass as much legislation to cement their agenda as possible. Even with the Democrats having A reduced position of power I believe they will try and force the Republicans to capitulate to their desires. The question that must be addressed immediately will be are the Republicans going to capitulate under the belief that if they compromise with the Democrats they will work together and therefore more will get done. Any Republican who believes that this is possible should immediately resign so that a special election can be held in their district to elect a republican was more concerned about getting something done than maintaining the status quo.

There are many issues that need to be addressed crime the border, and inflation they’re all important but the one thing that must take priority is establishing an energy policy that allows America to become energy independent once again. In a subsequent commentary, I will discuss the issue of the shortage of diesel fuel and natural gas, and crude oil and the impact it will have on all Americans’ lives.

For now, let’s get back to the midterm results I want to use the Senate race in Pennsylvania to point out an issue. John Fetterman is the democratic candidate for the Senate seat in the state of Pennsylvania. Newsweek published an article titled “John Fetterman’s chances of being doctor Oz with one week ”before the midterms.” the article claimed that Fetterman was up 1 1/2% over Dr. Oz.

the Democratic Party is trying to convince Pennsylvanians of the fact that their candidate had a heart attack and needs a teleprompter to understand the questions. The Democrats were saying there is nothing to be concerned about with Fetterman’s ability to serve. If 48% of eligible voters in Pennsylvania think that Fetterman is a better choice to represent the state of Pennsylvania in the US Senate than Dr. Oz, we have some very serious problems with a lot of voters in the United States. Perhaps if he recovers, he can run again, if he can prove to voters, that he can function in the Senate. What is scarier than Fetterman running is that 49% of voters in Pennsylvania are happy with his inability to serve. Don’t be surprised that Dr. Oz wins by a big number once again proving the inability of pollsters to get things right.

Speaking of pollsters CNN reported polling data from an AP-NORC survey that said that 85% of US adults say that things in the country are headed in the wrong direction, with just 14% believing things are going in the right direction. That’s a more pessimistic reading than in May. If these results are correct the Republicans should get 348 house seats. I think that they should get between 245 to 287 seats in the House.

We have states where Democrats refuse to debate their opponents so the voters in those states don’t get to hear what their party representative thinks about the issues like crime, inflation, energy policy, and many more issues. At 77 years of age, I have seen a lot of midterm and general elections, I can’t remember a campaign where the Democratic Party flipped on so many issues because they knew that the American people were opposed to what they stood for. Perhaps the most important issue causing flip-flops in the Democratic Party is the issue of defunding the police (crime). We now have many Democratic candidates early on in their campaigns supported defunding the police. Now because of two years of rising crime rates, the candidates have decided to change their minds and at least represent to the voters that they’re open to the idea of funding the police.

I give you one day off and celebrate but on Thursday the 10^th then we must start to make America Great Again.
