Frankly, we were surprised with the result of the Alabama race, but Judge Moore is not the kind of guy who develops a passionate following. That he could go down on what Ann Coulter says was a complaint from one woman and not four as claimed by MSNBC is ridiculous as he has led an exemplary life for 40 years since he dated that teenager.

It is very likely the Democrat national party leaders will take this gimmick into a full blown search for women Donald Trump has pinched or sexually abused, but Mr. Trump can quench that very quickly by offering a $1 million, in total, prize to any person, or persons, providing legally valid evidence, like sound or visual recordings, of Democrats offering money for such evidence. The Democrats will drop that scheme like a hot rock.
While the Democrats have won a seat in the Senate for two years, the Republicans have dodged a big internal squabble that could well have made that seat not worth it. Roy Moore is not an easy man to deal with. He is brittle, narrow-minded and inflexible, but a reliable conservative even if for the wrong reasons. He is a religious man, but not the kind who have thought about it and come to it by work. He swallowed it in one gulp and uses it as a weapon. That is only one of his several errors in life.
