Under various names Smith & Wesson has been manufacturing guns in Massachusetts since 1852. But thanks to the Bay State’s worsening anti-Second Amendment laws, the company has now abandoned the state and moved its company HQ to Tennessee.

Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson founded the Smith & Wesson Company in Norwich, Connecticut in 1852, but before that, they were partners with companies such as Volcanic Repeating Arms and even Winchester, which were centered in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Smith & Wesson also ended up in Springfield despite originally being founded in Connecticut, because Springfield was the veritable epicenter of firearms manufacturing in the United States in the 1850s. S&W has been making its products in Springfield since 1856.

But this month, S&W has reopened its new HQ after it abandoned Massachusetts and landed in Maryville, Tennessee.

As WWLP-TV reported:

Smith & Wesson has officially moved their headquarters to Tennessee this weekend after a grand opening with celebrity guest Si Robertson from “Duck Dynasty.”
What Smith & Wesson’s move means for Springfield and the local economy

The gun manufacturing company held a grand opening on Saturday at their new 650,000 square-feet headquarters in Maryville, Tennessee. In attendance was Blount County Mayor Ed Mitchell, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett and “Duck Dynasty” star Si Robertson.

During the event, Smith & Wesson President and CEO Mark Smith said “From where I stand, the next 170 years of Smith & Wesson are looking pretty good,” He added, “It is something special here in Tennessee.”

This is what we need to see.

We need to see more businesses abandon deep blue states such as Illinois, California, Massachusetts, New York, et al, and reopen their businesses in red states.

Anti-American blue states deserve to be left in ruins.
