Over a year ago then-candidate Trump promised that one day very soon we’d all be saying “Merry Christmas” again. The comment caused an uproar in the media, but among his base it revived hope for a return to cultural normalcy.

While the media looks at President Trump and sees chaos, what they don’t realize is that the majority of the American people see the same everywhere around them.

While Trump may not be the perfect avatar for our concerns or our cultural causes, he at least seems willing to remember that our nation was not always this divided and this upturned.

Trump’s promise to bring back Christmas resonated with voters who look around America and see nothing but chaos, anger, and leftwing tumult.

Earlier this week Trump brought Christmas back to Salt Lake City, Utah.

“We’re now one huge step closer to delivering to the American people the historic tax relief as a giant present for Christmas,” Trump said Monday. “Remember I said we’re bringing Christmas back? Christmas is back, bigger and better than ever before. We’re bringing Christmas back.”

“And we say it now with pride. Let me just say, to those here today and all across the country: Merry Christmas to everybody,” Trump said to applause. “And also, happy holidays and a great New Year. We’re going to have a great, great year.”
