As the democratic party continues to come to terms with the horrific behavior of a number of their most loyal members, one such pervert is taking himself out of the game.

House Rep. John Conyers has been inundated over the course of the last two weeks with horrendous allegations regarding his sexually inappropriate behavior around colleagues and staff members.  The long time democrat was, at first, supported by his chosen political party despite the accusations and the torrid stories that emerged in their wake, with Nancy Pelosi famously flip-flopping on the subject in recent days and calling for his resignation.

Now, it seems as though Conyers has finally read the writing on the wall and will be stepping down from Congress, but not before endorsing his own son to take his place.

“Rep. John Conyers on Tuesday announced his retirement from Congress while in a Michigan hospital bed, saying he is endorsing his son, John Conyers III, for the seat he has held for more than a half century amid growing sexual-misconduct allegations.

“’I’m retiring today,’ the 88-year-old Michigan Democrat said in a phone interview with a local radio station from a Detroit hospital, where he has been since last month after experiencing chest pains. ‘I want everyone to know how much I appreciate [their] support.’

“Conyers, the longest-serving congressman, made the decision two weeks after sexual harassment allegations first surfaced and after returning last week to his Detroit-area district to discuss his political future with family and advisers.

“The most recent accusations surfaced Monday and allege Conyers slid his hand up a woman’s skirt and rubbed her thighs while they sat next to each other in church during a service more than a decade ago.”

Conners is just the latest in a long line of democratic personalities to be accused of abhorrent behavior during the 2017 harassment awakening in America, and is certainly not going to be the last either.

In addition to the church incident mentioned above, Conyers was known around Capitol Hill as a man that women would not with to be alone in an elevator with – a terrifying and creepy bit of open-source knowledge that had been part of Washington lore for far too long before he was finally sidelined.
