“I just love Trump, that’s my boy! Trump is one of rap’s favorite people, right?”

Oh, Kanye… never change.

The embattled Rap star stopped by the TMZ offices earlier this week and spoke glowingly of our President, before taking the black community to task.

West seemed to be arguing that by focusing on the negative of the past, America’s black community had trapped itself in a cycle of poverty and mental slavery.

Here’s what he had to say:

“When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice. You was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all. It’s like we’re mentally in prison. I like the word ‘prison’ because ‘slavery’ goes too direct to the idea of blacks. Slavery is to blacks as the Holocaust is to Jews. Prison is something that unites as one race, blacks and whites, that we’re the human race.”

Later he took to Twitter to clarify some of his comments:

Never change Kanye. Never. Change.
