By David N. Bossie,

They say that it takes an incompetent president to appoint an incompetent Cabinet. President Biden and his gang that can’t shoot straight remind us each and every day that this is true. The administration’s disastrous performance also reminds us that elections have consequences. Since Mr. Biden took office in January 2021, his policies have caused inflation, border, gas price and spy balloon crises, just to name a few. Unfortunately, Americans have to wait 20 months until they can vote Mr. Biden and his band of misfits out of office.

When it comes to inflation incompetence, look no further than Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. In her powerful position, Ms. Yellen is supposed to advocate sound economic policies that help the American people. But when millions of hardworking families were struggling with out-of-control inflation not seen in 40 years, Ms. Yellen helped pave the way for the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, which had nothing to do with reducing inflation. Even Paul Krugman at The New York Times admits: “The strategically misleadingly named Inflation Reduction Act is mainly a climate bill.”

So when it was time to fight for lower costs, Ms. Yellen instead chose to hoodwink Americans by pushing a left-wing climate change bill that stole hundreds of billions of dollars from taxpayers who thought they were getting help with the crushing burden of inflation when they really needed it.

Over at the Pentagon, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s incompetence was on full display recently as the nation watched with bewilderment as a Communist Chinese spy balloon slowly made its way over the entire continental United States before being shot down off the coast of South Carolina. In response to the fiasco, Mr. Austin supported the bizarre decision to take down three other flying objects before knowing exactly what our military was shooting at. As it turns out, those targets were probably just weather balloons. This entire episode made America look weak and incompetent and added fuel to the fire that the Defense Department under Mr. Austin’s leadership is more focused on implementing the woke agenda than defending American security. Empty-suit politicians are a dime a dozen, but politicians with true leadership skills and core competence are hard to come by.

After the horrific train derailment and fire that occurred in East Palestine, Ohio, on Feb. 3, all of America now knows which category the spineless and ham-handed Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg belongs in. Sec. Buttigieg is so concerned with harming his future political aspirations it took him nearly three weeks to announce a trip to the site of the wreck to hear from the people most effected by the disaster. You’d think that “Mayor Pete” would understand the importance of supporting small-town America at trying times such as this, but Mr. Buttigieg has let his true colors shine through. Mr. Buttigieg is a left-wing elitist, and places like East Palestine are just flyover country as far as he’s concerned.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is the godfather of incompetence in the Biden Cabinet. Mr. Mayorkas will be remembered as the secretary who allowed an invasion of his own country to take place, set records for drug overdose deaths on his watch as a result, and gave those on the terrorist watchlist incentive to try to enter America through our southern border. Any border security chief in any other country in the world would have been fired for gross incompetence long ago, but not in the upside-down Biden administration. In the years to come, future nominees for homeland security chief should study the “Mayorkas model” as the way not to make a country safe and secure. Mr. Mayorkas’ incompetence ought to get him impeached by the House of Representatives.

Sadly, these examples of incompetence are just the tip of the iceberg. For example, out-of-touch Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm’s problem with gas stoves and support for politicizing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve could have easily made the list. But all this being said, how is it possible that more than halfway through a dreadful term in office, no Biden Cabinet member has been fired or asked to resign?

Well, there’s enough blame to go around. Liberal journalists have given senior Biden officials a pass for two years due to the unhealthy alliance between the mainstream media and the Democratic Party.

However, as President Harry Truman liked to remind people, “The buck stops here.”

And Mr. Biden is old enough to know exactly what that means.
