At a campaign stop last week, Donald Trump seemed to promise that he would pay for everyone’s food at a Cuban restaurant he appeared at. But the media later claimed he lied and never paid them for a penny. But did they lie?
The media very quickly asserted that Trump was a liar for claiming to pay for everyone’s lunch and then skipping out on the bill.
“It turns out no one got anything. Not even a cafecito to-go,” the Miami New Times claimed, citing a “knowledgeable source”.”
But the Trump campaign begged to differ.
They say that the campaign DID pay for people’s food.
“A spokesperson for Trump [said] the former president had ‘offered to buy food’ for his supporters but they ‘followed him outside’ when he was leaving ‘and did not place orders themselves,'” Insider said in an updated version of the article, adding that Trump’s advance team “paid for any to-go meals ordered.”
Will the media make this correction?
Not on your life.
