Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is calling for armed insurrection over the Supreme Court’s coming decision that would overturn the landmark 1973 abortion ruling, Roe v. Wade.

Lightfoot, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor, jumped to her Twitter account to deliver her call to violence.

“To my friends in the LGBTQ+ community—the Supreme Court is coming for us next,” Lightfoot wrote on Twitter. “This moment has to be a call to arms. We will not surrender our rights without a fight—a fight to victory!”

This from the mayor in one of the most blood-soaked and dangerous cities in America.

Lightfoot’s tweet brought several responses from key figures:

Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado tweeted that “while people are being slain in [Lightfoot’s] streets on a daily basis, all she can worry about is endangering more lives with her reckless words. Shame on her. She should resign.”

Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas simply tweeted a “#DemMobViolence” hashtag in response to Lightfoot’s “call to arms” statement.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate and conservative commentator Kathy Barnette tweeted, “Shame on Lori Lightfoot! Issuing a ‘call to arms’ to millions is nothing short of a terroristic threat. For a woman with so much blood on her hands due to the gun violence she allows in Chicago, she’s going to cause even more death. Issuing terroristic threats is a crime!”

The research arm of the Republican National Committee wondered, “Is Democrat Lori Lightfoot calling for violence?”

This is the same woman who decried the events going on during Jan. 6.

“I am in disbelief with what is unfolding in D.C. right now,” Lightfoot tweeted. “President Trump and his enablers incited this violence. Shame on every elected official in Congress and elsewhere who fomented this anti-democratic insurrection by extremists. This is not democracy. This is a disgrace.”

Now this dangerous, abject hypocrite is calling for exactly that sort of violence to erupt in America.
