Black Scientist Canceled by Woke Mob Over Backing James Webb Telescope Name

A black astrophysicist is facing attacks by the woke leftists because he has demurred from the left’s obsession with removing the name of James Webb from NASA’s space telescope over false accusations that Webb was “racist” and “anti-gay.”

First of all, James Webb was a NASA administrator in the 1960s and died in 1992. This was long before the gay mafia began destroying people’s careers and lives for failing the LGBTQ litmus tests.

But now, the left is attempting to destroy Webb’s reputation because he didn’t come out to loudly advocate for gays… in the 1960s. When not even gays were advocating for gays.

National Society for Black Physicists President Hakeem Oluseyi said that when he first began looking into the facts surrounding the left’s accusations, he leaned toward accepting the wokesters’ proclamations.

But after looking into it all, he realized the left was simply lying about the claims against Webb.

“I can say conclusively that there is zero evidence that Webb is guilty of the allegations against him,” Oluseyi wrote at Medium.

But the queer mob attacked.

This did not sit well with one of Webb’s biggest critics, “queer agender” black feminist physicist Chanda Prescod-Weinstein of the University of New Hampshire. Prescod-Weinstein has been very outspoken about renaming the James Webb Space Telescope and claimed NASA had assigned Oluseyi to “impugn” her concerns and to provide a “shield” for Webb and the agency.

Supporting Prescod-Weinstein are Britain’s Royal Astronomical Society (“no astronomer who submits a paper to its journals should type the words ‘James Webb’”), the American Astronomical Society, and the publications Nature, New Scientist and Scientific American.

Oluseyi said that last journal refused to publish his letter which “point[ed] out flawed statements in its essays” as well as a piece on his research into Webb.

Oluseyi concluded that he “didn’t care about” Director Webb (“He’s not my uncle”), but “once I found the truth, what was I supposed to do?”
