Many of us were quietly, unassumingly on our way to work, to school, to family and friends  to spend another early September day. Then without cause or reason, the worst homeland catastrophe occurred, we were attacked. Not in the sense of high-flying bomber planes, or nuclear submarines, but by crazed terrorists from the middle east flying on commercial flights with full intention to kill many, without regret or fallen heart. How could a people be so hateful as to attack innocent people at work, shopping, or just walking on the streets below? A hateful, misaligned a crazed group that had death in their heart. They were crazed by the lost souls and given desires of grandeur by Satan if they would attack the most peaceful of people.

Our President, the distinguished George Bush was happily lovingly sharing children’s stories with a class in Florida, I was driving from Florida back to Maine, and where were you on that fateful day? When did you hear of the death and destruction? Did your patriotism come from deep inside, and the desire to protect your loved ones?

So many died needlessly, so many who tried to save and help died needlessly, and today, we take just a moment, go silent, and say a heartfelt prayer for each person. For every fallen soul, every injured or ill fireman and ems personnel, for every police officer, and for the Mayor of New York, Rudi Giuliani at that time, we shall stand quietly with tears in our eyes, love in our hearts, and a desire to see old Glory flying bravely in the breeze of every home, every town, and every government office around the country.

Our patriotism shall carry on if given the opportunity, and in the year of such an important election, I pray we all take the time to realize what is truly important within our country’s borders, and not what sounds nice, or comfortable.

Our war on the evils of a world not willing to love, or live peacefully will not ever be seen by us in our lifetimes, but our moment to fight evil at home and abroad shall be that Beacon we need to Freedom for all Americans. We must carry on the fight against terrorism, wherever it may be, and we must have the strongest military the world has ever seen so that the evil of the world will never get a hold on democracy and freedom.

Today is a day to join hands, to join hearts, and to pledge our allegiance to Old Glory, our beautiful Constitution, and the liberty that we hold so dearly. Today is the day to stand up and say without equivocation, WE HEAR YOU NEW YORK, AMERICA HEARS YOU, AND THE WORLD WILL NEVER FORGET THAT THEY HEARD YOU…
