In the aftermath of what can only be described as a monumental upset in political history, and the cause of what appears to be the complete emotional and mental devastation of Clinton supporters, we must all come together, move on, and make America great again.
No, I’m not kidding.
The mainstream and print media, commentators, pollsters and pundits, cable networks, radio talk show hosts, politicians, and others, all wrote and spoke out on what they believed were the reasons for president elect Trump. There are a number of important issues that have been discussed as a reason, mainly jobs and the economy, the national debt, the military, taxes, immigration, national security, Islamic terrorism, etc. But most of those who have commented failed to understand the meaning and true nature of what occurred on November 08, 2016. Yes, the voters were concerned about all the issues mentioned, but I believe the peoples motives manifested themselves in a different direction, and went much deeper and can be summed up best in two words, traditional values.
Americans across the country, especially white Christian Americans, the so called silent majority, have become troubled and outraged with what they perceive as the corruption and perversion of normal standards of decency and morality in our post modern culture, a plagued on their homeland that has eroded the traditional values and principles they believe in.
Abortion, Planned Parenthood selling baby body parts, same sex marriage, the Supreme Court, open borders, illegal, sorry, undocumented immigration, gender neutral restrooms, the ongoing threat to religious liberty, and a president terminally obsessed with advancing the LGBTQ agenda at the expense of anyone or any group; these are some of the issues that have besieged the silent majority, and we can include the numerous instances of small business owners that have faced lawsuits and threats to their livelihoods for refusing, for religious and conscience reasons, to accommodate same sex couple wedding ceremonies.
In the midst of all this social upheaval are what seem to be an effort by hard core liberal progressives on college campuses, in the media and Hollywood to revise history and de-legitimize the many contributions of Western Civilization. It was these hard working, innovative, proud and inventive people, and their descendants, who laid the foundation upon which civilization and this great nation and republic is built.
The silent majority viewed Mr. Trump, with all his flaws and foibles, as their only alternative to stop the cultural rot. Based on his campaign promises especially regarding appointees to the Supreme Court, the judicial branch of government that over time has been transformed into an entity that has reneged on its duty to uphold the Constitution by deciding cases along political and ideological lines; and this I believe has been a major cause for cultural retrogression that plagues us as a society.
Patrick Henry of “Give me liberty or give me death” fame, also spoke these words, “Virtue, morality and religion, this is the armor and this alone that renders us invincible. These are the tactics we should study. If we lose these, we are conquered, fallen indeed…. so long as our manners and principles remain sound, there is no danger”.
