Obamacare to Ration Health Care for elderly

Last week, Citizen magazine ran an article about the administration defending the concept of 'rationing boards"  Here is a quote from that piece:

"Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius appeared before two House committees this week, trying to testify on controversial aspects of ObamaCare.  At issue: The Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) that’s made up of 15 presidential appointees — a majority of whom are required to be a nonphysicians —  who have the power to analyze the financial drivers of the Medicare system, as well as determining which beneficiaries can receive care."

Read the last part of the last sentence carefully.  "...AS WELL AS DETERMINING WHICH BENEFICIARIES CAN RECEIVE CARE."  The IPAB under Obamacare will have the power to decide if you (on medicare) can receive care!  That, my friends, deserves the name 'health care rationing board' if it means anything at all!

Let's just break it down.  The word "determining" should be pretty clear.  But for those of you brainwashed by Berkeley (aka Beijing of the west), let me spell it out.  It means that the beneficiary does not necessarily get the care that the rest of us are paying for him or her to get.  In fact, it means the beneficiary might not get ANY CARE AT ALL!  If the IPAB so decides, it would appear that a lot of people who DO receive care now would not receive it under Obamacare.

Just in case it still isn't clear what's happening here, look at the words "WHICH BENEFICIARIES".  Does not this signify that there will be actual beneficiaries that will NOT GET CARE?  If one finishes the statement with the last three words, "CAN RECEIVE CARE", The meaning couldn't be clearer.

But, hold on a minute! Wasn't this federal health care takeover supposed to help those who didn't have coverage to get care?  Doesn't having an IPAB seem to deny care to those already covered under Medicare?  Doesn't that mean Obamacare is accomplishing the exact opposite of what it was supposed to?

Folks, this has nothing to do with budget constraints and debt ceilings.  This is a program already designated and currently funded though going broke.  This has to do with the overall failure of the ill-conceived program of Medicare itself, and an ambitious socialist political agenda by this administration.  Everyone seems to agree that Medicare will not be solvent in the very near future and thus it must be reformed.

Let me correct myself.  Everyone seems to agree that Medicare needs reforming, except me, and a few conservative stalwarts.  I believe that Medicare, as well as Social Security, need to be privatized, and the sooner the process gets under way, the better.  At least then, we wouldn't have to fear the 'rationing boards' compiled by liberals who simply want more power and influence for their ideology in government.  The free market would be able to weed out those who take advantage of the system.  Those people who visit, and have their families visit, the doctor for any small ache, pain, or minor ailment because they are covered under Medicare or SSI.  If some sensible tort reform were added, it would help insure that frivilous and unnecessary lawsuits would fade to non-existence, thus cutting hospital and physician's costs of having to carry malpractice insurance at obscene rates as well as the cost of filing multiple, redundant forms for the government, thus cutting the cost to the patient.

Oh look! I just outlined a simple plan to at least begin 'fixing' the health care insurance mess so many are crying about.  Abolish Obamacare, privatize SS and Medicare, and for goodness sake stop talking about and planning for the rationing of health care!  Besides being a more efficient way to operate programs like these, it would get government out of the game of playing Monopoly with our money to make everyone else purchase government health insurance, and sending this nation into economic oblivion on the way!

'Nuff Said!'

I just found this site, and though I have not commented much on blogs before, I am just full of things I would like to say! I am a little bit paranoid, after hearing about the info gathering that the government may be up to. Does anyone else think about that? Well, the die is cast, and we cannot let that stop us from excersizing our freedom of speech! My ancestors came to this country before it was  a nation, and gave up their lives and fortunes to have freedom. I do not think the far-left liberal-progressives realize that there are still Americans right now that are willing to stand up once again for the principles the 1st Americans passed down to us. Governments will come and go, but right principles are truths that will never die! A daughter of Patriots I am, and I hope I can be worthy. Maybe its in the blood!
