The United States of America:
Are we a Democracy or What (are we)?

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

The Library of Congress respectfully attributes this to ALEXANDER FRASER TYTLER, Lord Woodhouselee as the ‘Unverified author’ who was a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh (born 1747 - died 1813).

Our forefathers of the United States were concerned about the fledgling Democracy they had created in 1776. One can speculate they understood the meaning of what a Democracy meant (as expressed by Prof Tytler above). So our United States was only a Democracy that lasted all of about 12 years; until the US Constitution was ratified. Since 1788, we have been a Constitutional Republic.

A Constitutional Republic is governed by the election of representatives, from the people, for the sole purpose of limiting government power over its citizens. This is why there are three branches to our government; (to) prevent over-reaching of any one branch to control its citizens.

However, power and money corrupts even the most faithful of heart. This is what Prof Tytler was warning us about. Contained within our Constitution we do have elements of ‘Democracy’ in it, so we must be very careful how we allow others to govern us.

Today, we are now realizing our elected officials have been spending “the public’s treasury,” our money, very loosely. If we do not stand up and make our representatives STOP the spending, then we will lose our Nation and as Prof Tytler says, “… is always followed by a dictatorship.”

The average age of the modern world’s greatest civilizations has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these once successful nations progressed through these sequences:

  • Came from bondage into spiritual faith
  • From spiritual faith into great courage
  • From courage into liberty
  • From liberty into abundance
  • From abundance into complacency
  • From complacency into apathy
  • From apathy into dependence
  • From dependence back into bondage

(REFERENCE: Henning Webb Prentis, Jr., 1946)

The current attitude of many US citizens: 'We have become complacent and there is a lot of apathy going around.' We have so much apathy that at the 9-11 ten year memorial service, we will not have ANY faith giving blessings – NONE! No one cares; no one is screaming “What the hell is going on?” As a Nation, we have become very apathetic.

In addition, there was record spending the last two years of the Bush Administration when the Democrats took over both houses of Congress and even more spending the first two years of the Obama Administration when the Democrats literally “owned” two thirds of the government. During this short amount of time, the national debt increased well over a TRILLION Dollars!

We continuously have President Barack Obama trying to make us dependent upon the Federal Government for jobs and our livelihood. He is constantly using class warfare to divide us, the people. He tries to illustrate the disparity between those who have earned and saved their money and those who have not. President Obama is trying to drive us into such a deep state of debt that it will eventually collapse the value of the US Dollar and we lose our Nation.

Based upon the 200 year nation sequence described above, we are becoming dependent; our government has become dependent upon those who are loaning our Federal Government money; soon, the majority of citizens will become dependent upon the government for their lives. When that happens we are just one step away from… BONDAGE!

There has never been a more important time in our history than right now to stand up to save America. If we do not do this correctly for the Nov 2012 election, then this will be written on the gravestone of the United States:

The United States of America
Born 1776, Died 2012
The last US President: Barack Obama

(It doesn't hurt to read this several times.)

A US Patriot,
