THE VOTE IS CAST
You voted for her, I voted for him
and both of us thought we were right.
We both cried out for our nation,
we both have the same goal in sight.
We both want our nation to heal
from the wounds inflicted so long;
we both want peace and prosperity,
we both want to hear freedom’s song.
We both want our nation’s motto to be
that God is the King of our land;
we both want for love and equality,
we both want to see freedom stand.
Let’s put our difference behind us now,
for the vote of the nation is cast;
and in the end we both love this land,
let us hoist freedom’s flag up the mast.
