Despite what many see in his public persona, Texas Senator and former presidential candidate Ted Cruz can show a witty sense of humor. He, like President Trump, can turn a narrative with tweeting, albeit for very different reasons. Trump gets his sides of stories out that the media won’t cover, but Cruz has a habit of zingers and annihilating people, and is extraordinarily good at it.

Yesterday, Deadspin, which is supposedly a sports website but has become a shill for Leftist politics, put out a hit piece on Cruz for no apparent reason other than that he’s one of the most conservative people in politics today. This is no surprise, since Deadspin is owned by Univision Communications, a left-wing Spanish news and entertainment channel, most famous for its uber-Leftist personality Jorge Ramos. In a piece by writer Ashley Feinberg talking about Cruz’s decision to initiate a weekly basketball game, she wrote:

“We were delighted to learn that perpetual failed candidate for president Ted Cruz started a weekly Senate basketball game in hopes of making his colleagues hate him less. Which is great for Ted Cruz, but doesn’t do much for us. We want to right this wrong and share Ted’s love of baskethoop with the world. We want Ted Cruz basketball pics… surely some of you reading this must work on the Hill, or know someone who works on the Hill, or know someone who is secretly sleeping in the men’s locker room in the Russell Building on the Hill. Either way, if you happen to snap a few photographs—or better yet, a video—of Ted Cruz in his raw, unbridled, soup-fueled athletic form, please for the love of god send them to [email protected]. It’s going to be a long four years. We need this.”

Deadspin also tweeted to send them proof of Ted Cruz playing basketball.

Cruz wasted no time, tweeting Deadspin a photo of Grayson Allen of the Duke University basketball team (who looks a lot like Cruz), tweeting “what do I win?”

Deadspin could have then taken the high road, but decided to tweet back at Cruz, “Go eat s**t.”

Naturally, someone with the sense of humor that Cruz has trolled them in the best way possible.

Deadspin could have had a laugh at Cruz’s expense after he tweeted them “what do I win?” by answering something witty such as “not the presidency” or the like. While the beginning article was gross, it at least could have ended up as a fun exchange. But Deadspin, and the Left as a whole, has no sense of humor. They aren’t used to anyone standing up to their bullying. So, naturally, when Cruz zings them, they have no response, so they just write it off with a vulgar insult.

The Left is like a schoolyard bully that will pick on anyone who won’t stand up to them. They have no idea how to deal with someone who does. If only every conservative would take the approach Cruz did to Deadspin, and the Left would never be able to control the narrative again.
