Let's go, people!  Move it, move it, MOVE IT!!!  Everyone outside for rifle drill in five minutes!!

 

Seriously, North Carolina, where are you and what are you doing? 

 

I just lost a bid for conservative candidate for Lee County Commissioner-at-Large. A little disappointing, but one of the three of us got in, and that swung the "balance of power" to the Conservatives.  We Republicans are just a wee bit shy of 10,000 registered voters in the county, and will surpass that in short order and then take over in our area. 

 

Remember..."all politics is local?"  (Let me answer my own question.)  It was Tip O'Neill.  No matter what you thought about him, he was right.  If you want to influence anyone for good or for ill, reach out to those within arm's length and lead them towards a change before you go out to conquer the world. 

 

What are you folks doing to prepare for the "bad times" that could be awaiting us in the near future?  Any "preppers" out there?  Bought an AR-15 recently?  Doing any reloading? 

 

I've learned how to do new things that will be useful "when the lights go out." For example, I know how to make a "slow sand" water filter, and have made my own black powder (For muzzle-loading shooting, NOT for "destructive devices.")  I have a blacksmith's forge and know how to use it, although I'm getting older and my arm strength is not what it used to be (or never really was!). 

 

We just don't know what is going to happen in the USA in the coming days, weeks, months and years, and must be prepared for a variety of contengencies. While we wait, we must not be either complacent or silent, but must militate where we must to see that we do not lose any of our God-given freedoms. That means standing up to tyrants on the local level first, and then on the state and national levels.  We are making progress locally and in our beloved State of North Carolina.  Now we need to move on Washington.

To salvage our country, we must be more careful about electing the individuals who are supposed to represent us in Washington. Following are some of my thoughts on electing representatives.

Requirements for elected officials

Any person running for any elected office shall sign a sworn statement agreeing to accept the following conditions and agree to make these items their top priority to be made a part of the law of the land.

They shall agree to uphold the oath of office pledge they swear to upon being seated. They further agree to resign the elected office immediately upon being presented with reasonable evidence of their violating the oath. This especially refers to upholding the United States Constitution and all the amendments.

  • They must agree that they shall not remain in that elected office more than two terms or 12 years, whichever comes first. They also agree they will not accept appointment to any other elected office on the national level.
  • The top priority upon assuming the elected office shall be to make the next budget a balanced budget. The budget is to be balanced by cutting government expenses starting with reducing the number of people employed by the government and ending all Pork Barrel projects.  The Federal Government shall be reduced by a minimum of 15%, excluding Military.
  • The means of collecting taxes shall be immediately revised by instituting a flat, 10% tax on all income. There shall be no deductions or loopholes. The tax shall apply to income, regardless of how it is made. All businesses as well as individuals shall be taxed at the 10 % rate. This will allow the IRS to be eliminated thereby contributing to the previous requirement.
  • They must agree to work very hard on the immigration problem which also includes securing our borders. Streamlining the process by which an immigrant may become a citizen shall be a very high priority. All naturalized citizens shall be reminded of their oath to the United States of America, agree to live by all provisions of the constitution and accept it as the law of the land.
  • They must agree there shall be no amnesty for anyone who has entered our country illegally. All “undocumented” aliens shall be returned to their home country within 30 days. They shall be incarcerated in the closest jail until transpiration is arranged.
  • All “anchor babies”, as they are legally citizens, shall be placed in suitable government housing. At such time the parents become citizens of the United States of America, the children shall immediately be reunited with their parents. In cases where there are more than one children in the family deemed to be legal citizens as per the 14th Amendment, all efforts will be made to keep the brothers and sisters together. Anchor babies have the right to return to their parent’s home country at any time. Should they choose to return to their home country, they shall surrender their U.S. citizenship.
  • Any business hiring illegal aliens shall be fined the amount of 10% of their gross income as reported to the IRS for the preceding year for EACH illegal person in their employ. Ignorance that the employee is not legally authorized to work in the USA does not relieve the employer of the responsibility of verifying proper credentials to work in the USA.  All illegal aliens shall be deported to their home country within 7 days. Any and all expenses incurred in deporting the illegal aliens shall be paid by the employer.
  • An amendment must be processed to modify the first sentence of Section 1 of the 14th amendment. The revision is to read “All persons naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
  • They must agree that one of the first orders of business upon taking office will be to end the “Golden Fleece” retirement and health plan currently being plundered by our elected officials. Their retirement shall be a 401k like the rest of the population.
  • Any law properly signed shall apply equally to all residents of the United States of America.
  • All political appointees shall receive a salary not to exceed 50 % of the salary of their employer’s. All expenses incurred by a political appointee shall be paid by the person employing the appointee. Expenses are not to be reimbursed by the government.
  • All political appointees shall be approved by a committee appointed by the leadership of both legislative bodies. The committee shall comprise five legislatures, none of which are the same political party as the individual making the nominations for the position.  
  • The budget for their office staff shall not exceed 10 times the dollar amount of their salary. Any additional expenses shall be paid by the elected official out of their own pocket. Such expenses are not reimbursable by the government.
  • The President, ALL Representatives, Senators, all their staff and all state and Federal government employees shall immediately be placed on the Social Security system.
  • To be eligible to receive Social Security, government grants, public housing, any financial or any educational assistance, one must be proven to be a citizen of the United States of America and have either directly or their parent(s) paid into Social Security for a minimum of five (5) years.
  • Any individual, older than 14 and not attending school full time, who receives public assistance of any type, shall work a minimum of 40 hours of community service time. Their chores shall be assigned by the Sherriff of the community in which they reside.
  • They must agree that all laws passed shall cover all individuals. No exceptions.
  • Every law passed shall have a maximum of ten year expiration date.
  • All travel shall either be paid by the elected official personally or they shall travel coach. First class travel shall not be expensed to the government nor paid for from any government account.
  • Any money, gifts and/or gratuities received from any P.A.C by any elected official shall be considered personal income and shall be taxed accordingly.
