Unite for Freedom
It appears that the four front-runners are Palin, Romney, Huckabee, and Gingrich. I love Palin, but she may be too polarizing. Romney has a failed "RomneyCare" program as Governor of Massachusetts. Huckabee raised taxes and commuted a prisoner's sentence who ended up committing murder. Gingrich had an affair. Nobody is perfect. What do y'all think?
Permalink Reply by Angel Jenkins on December 23, 2010 at 11:33am The below is a reply I posted under 2012 election yesterday. I will add that, even though Gingrich is smart and informed and qualified, when Repubs run 'white hairs' (no offense, I are one without the color :-)) they lose. The dems figured that out long ago....when will the Repubs figure it out? Newt is NOT the FUTURE of the party or the country. We need the new, conservative, long haul gang.....
Love Sarah but agree...actually, I believe that whoever wins, Sarah Palin should be the Secretary of Energy. It is a no brainer. Who knows more about it than she? Put people where their strengths are. I love
Mike Huckabee...don't know if we could pull it off with him; would depend on the VP selection. Romney is Scott Brown, no way. Gingrich is too old. Republicans need to get the message about white hair and old
people...not that I don't think he is smart and conservative and informed...he is....but we can't win with him. Michelle Bachmann, Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, Bobby Jindahl.....they should be at the fore front of any conversation....and Huckabee of course. It has been said that
whoever runs, Marco Rubio will be the VP running mate....that is what is going around....not a bad way to garner votes from selected groups.
Just my 25 cents...

Can not take him seriously. And he does not have a strong voting record, Angel. Don't believe what you hear, find what is true.
I still say John Thune needs to be on the ticket one way or another. Either with Newt or Sarah. Romney can not win and Huckabee has lost some credibility but I do like him.

Marianne Gingrich, his closest advisor during his last fit of empire building, sits on the boardwalk chain-smoking her breakfast.
He thinks of himself as president, you tell her. He wants to run for president.
She gives a jaundiced look. "There's no way," she says. She thinks he made a choice long ago between doing the right thing and getting rich, and when you make those choices, you
foreclose other ones. "He could have been president. But when
you try and change your history too much, and try and recolor it
because you don't like the way it was or you want it to be different
to prove something new ... you lose touch with who you really are.
You lose your way."
"He believes that what he says in public and how he lives don't have to be connected," she says. "If you believe that, then yeah, you can run for president."
Sitting on a bench, she squints against the light. "He always told me that he's always going to pull the rabbit out of the hat," she says.

Of the 4 I thnk that Newt Gingirch is porbably the best qualified. Whether he is electable or not is another question. Sarah Palin is probably the front runner. Unfortunately what folks think of her is clear-cut: She is either loved or hated with nothing in between.
There may be other possible candidates. In 6 or 8 months, the picture wil become a lot clearer I think.

Permalink Reply by ITZdaTRUTH on December 23, 2010 at 3:16pm Just as a technical point, but the military is not "an entity in and of itself" although I fear generations of State run propaganda have lead some to desire otherwise. It is a creature of Congress, and is therefore subject to the same codes of conduct as the rest of the Federal Government, including prohibitions on racial, sexual and religious discrimination.
The reason that our military has been so successful in the past is that for nearly 70 years our nation has been in the enviable position of being the worlds reserve currency. We have been uniquely able to pour virtually unlimited amounts of money into "defense" in pursuit of better technologies. We outspend the rest of the world combined, but this period of history WILL END, and just like the stuffy-old Torries of the UK, the neo-conservatives of this country will mournfully recall the "former greatness" of the USA...
As if the greatness of this country was ever to be measured in the number and size of her guns and armies, rather than the freedom and prosperity of its people.
rg id:
Ron Paul voted to overturn DADT. I get that from a Libertarian point but honestly, not cool...the military is an entity in an of itself, which is why we have been so successful in the PAST. Leave them alone. That being said, the federal government has no business in social issues....period...sorry, off topic

Now that is a stretch. I'm no fan of Islam, but that whole issue has been blown way out of proportion to distract the less informed populace from the FACT that the man running it is Council On Foreign Relations, and one of the major supporters is a co-owner of Fox News. The American sheople are being played.

Why Ron Paul?
He has never taken a government junket.
He does not participate in the lucrative Congressional Pension Program.
He returns a portion of his annual Congressional Office Budget every year.
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted to restrict gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise Congressional Pay.
He never voted to increase Executive Branch Power.
He will Reinstate The Constitution and Save The Republic
He will END the unconstituional FED.
He will phase out the unconstitutional IRS beginning immediately
He will secure the borders
He will limit Big Government in your private affairs
He will Stop Illegal Immigration an No Amnesty
He voted against regulating the Internet
He voted against the Iraq War and warned us against going forward with an undeclared war.
“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberty
and wealth are in Jeopardy” Ron Paul July 10th, 2003
He voted against the un-patriotic so called Patriot Act.
He supports a non-interventionist foreign policy
He will end the inflation tax
Ron Paul is a true Constitutionalist
He would have soundly beat Obama in 2008 because Independents trust him and like him
Ron Paul for President 2012
Because no one else can be trusted to say what he means and do what he says like Ron Paul does.
Ron Paul seems pretty successful to me. He does what he says, has a strong voting record, tons of experience. For someone said to be a joke, hes a mover and a shaker. I say Paul/Napolitano
